About Griffin

Hi, I’m Griffin. I’m originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and I’m currently living in Denver while taking a break from school at Vanderbilt University where I’m majoring in economics. I’m a huge health nut and drink way too much green tea.
The first time I took the ACT was when I was in seventh grade and halfway through pre-algebra. I scored a 24. This apparently meant that I was smarter than 75% of high school seniors. I know for a fact that I absolutely was not. However, I took an ACT prep class that taught me a lot of tips for the test. In high school, I scored a 35 three times on the ACT and a 1580 on the SAT.
I’ve always had a skill and passion for teaching, I have looked at way too many standardized tests, and I enjoy being my own boss so I decided to tutor full time. I have a treasure trove of knowledge about these tests that I’d love to share with you or your student in a completely personalized manner. Every student learns differently and I specialize in figuring out the best way to get them to absorb the information they need.
The ACT and SAT do not test how smart you are: they test how good you are at the ACT and SAT. Since every student learns differently, I don’t have a rigid method of teaching. Rather, I figure out the best way to get your student to retain the tools they need for the test, in a relaxed and comfortable environment. I’ll teach not only the content of the test, but also the format, timing and pacing strategies, and even the best breakfast to eat the morning of the test.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!
-Griffin
